Reason #241 Why You Don't Say Everything Out Loud

I was out Christmas shopping today when the store I was in played an advertisement for their own gift cards over the loudspeakers. I was kind of half listening when it said something like, "... they are the perfect gift and can be bought in all denominations..."

For a very split second I wondered what religion had to do with gift cards.

Just a great reminder what church geeks we all are!!!!!! Maybe that comes from living in the world and not of it.

LOL! I've thought twice about using "denomination" in the non-ecclesiastical sense ever since hearing a story from a colleague. His secretary, a loving soul who could laugh at herself, came back from the post office still giggling. She told him she'd gone to buy stamps. When the employee at the counter asked her what denomination, she told him (imagine this in a good ol' Texas drawl), "YEW-nited Methodist."
