Revgalblogpal Friday Five: Word Association

Below you will find five words. Tell us the first thing you think of on reading each one. Your response might be simply another word, or it might be a sentence, a poem or a story.

1. vineyard
I've always wanted to go to one on vacation but TDH doesn't drink so it seemed silly. Maybe now is the time.

2. root
I just taught The Boy what a root is on our last hike. He even knows that it puts water in the tree.

3. rescue
Yes please.

*4. perseverance
What I want my tattoo to symbolize.

5. divided
My family

*Edited to add: After seeing TDH's face just now when he thought the temporary one was a real one, I am DEFINITELY getting one. The choices he would make in life no longer define me. This is something I want to do and have wanted to do since November of 2003.

#1 was very similar to my association. #5 just hurt.

You know, there are a lot of vinyards in my county... you should drop by sometime...

Neato - I did the 5 too. Good reflections.

As for TDH, did he respond when my hubby and I got tats? I can't remember. And we got them for a wedding anniversary! Ultimately, it is your body. And even if there is a future with him, he has no input on what you do with that body. ART AWAY! :)

OK, here is what I suggest.

You come down here this fall, I'll take you for the tattoo, then we'll visit some of the delightful VA wineries, and since I'm pregnant I can be your designated driver.

It Is A Plan!

Great edit to #4

Even tho' I don't have a desire to have a tattoo, if I had the experience your edit describes, I would! You go girl!

#4 --GO FOR IT. I'll hold your hand if you need me to :)

I don't drink, but I'd go for the cheese and the scenery! Great 5.

I like ReverendMother's plan. Go for it...and of course we all want photos.

ouch

Like RM idea though. Go for it. Schedule the trip in now. Andif you still want the tattoo then do it then :) but make sure it's not in protest, because they aren't easily -or painlessly- removed.

can't wait to see the tattoo (or in your case tat-one.
I got a fish tattoo at Montreat with hynnea ink. It lasts a little longer, but i was disappointed when none of the elderly folks noticed.
Doggone they notice everything else you do.
Anyhow, totally go for hte tattoo and do supply a photo.

1-4 grace - ain't that the truth!

And VA isn't far for me either. I'm up for a trip. Leave Boy with Grandma and we'll head down for the weekend. I'll leave Lad and Monkey with the Hubby and we can tour a vineyard, sample heavily and go get those tats!

Now just help me figure out something that symoblizes being a mommy to 2 boys. (A urinal?)

yes, Lorna - that is where the "I have wanted one since November 2003" comes in.

The vineyard road trip sounds wonderful. Maybe not this fall but 2008? Of course, I am guessing rm's desire is to NOT be pregnant at that time.

As for the tattoo, I have a young church member working on the design and since she does freelance for the tattoo shop in town I will most likely be going with her... tentatively in late October because that is after the beach trip I have planned.

I will share the design when I have it.

You go girl!

I have totally never wanted a tattoo...not scared, just not interested. (Yet?)

But you are A#1 and if you get one it will be the coolest one ever!

Go for it! Looking forward to seeing the design.
And winery tours are lots of fun, and interesting too.

go for it on the tattoo!!

Fall 2008 it is. No, I won't be PG which means I can enjoy it on an even higher level.

Ok. I was gunna offer to go on the wine vineyard vacation, but sounds like you and reverendmother are all set to go. I could offer to baby sit, if you bring me back a case of something really good...ok, with 4 kids, maybe that would be two cases...hee hee

then again, neither of you know me and may be hesitant to leave children in the care of a total stranger, and one who lives two days north and west of either of you (or more???)...but I'd help if I could...

I have a fun idea for your tattoo.
Have a cute little frog on a clump of butter.
A story in perserverance relates how to frogs fall into a big jug of milk and try to jump out but can't get over the rim.
One gives up and drowns in the milk, but the ohter continues to jump and kick and keeps trying to get out. All of his efforts finally produces a big lump of butter and he is saved.
I had a book of this story in the singsong rhyme style of Dr. Seuss, but can only find it on the net in a regular story.
The final line in the book says,
"Don't moan or mutter, for one more kick may bring the butter."
I wish I knew the rest of the rhyme by heart as it is so much cuter.
Also a rhyme about doubt and shout.
So sorry I have a failing memeory at 38 years of age!
But a frog on a lump of butter is a tatoo that nobody else will ahve. :)~

BTW-
if you Goggle frogs and butter, you get recipes!!!!
Oh horrors!

On LA Ink this past week, a woman had her baby's hand print tattooed on her back. It was really beautifully done.

A foot print would be nice too.

My niece has four tiny foot prints on the side of her leg. One for each person in her life who spiritually "carry" her through tough times.

I like your "hesed" idea too. Go for it WS!

A design by a local artist sounds absolutely grand - can't wait to see it!
