VOLUME II: When the lessons of the past catapult you into the future.
We absolutely basted ours yesterday. It was 87 degrees, October or no October. In the Snow Belt.Of course, I was still melting in my fancy black get-up.
Um...that would be "blasted"."Basted" is what I was in the robe.
This all sounds very unpleasant. The weather here finally turned and is cool, but my menfolk in opposite corners of Mitten-Shaped State are both wilting. Also whining.I would have *so* turned it on, ws.
You should have turned it on, if only to ensure that it was working properly.I had to use the AC here in Connecticut last week. Thankfully I hadn't removed the window units yet!
I probably would have if the cemetary was not within eyesight of the Sanctuary. I didn't want the spectacle of all of the church's ancestors rolling in their graves to interrupt worship.
Lucky you with the AC. Even though you may have melted yesterday, at least you will be doing summer ministry affectively in the higher temps. Yesterday I was melting in my alb and stole.
We're still blasting ours here & probably will be into November - *giggling* at the grave activity comment - appropriate for the Halloween season maybe
Snowed here yesterday...chilly, wet and windy most of the day. AC? Heck, here we turn the _heat_ one Labor Day or so.
I'm trying to imagine living in a place without central air conditioning, available 365 days per year if needed. I might have to try that sometime.
I feel your pain.
wyldth1ng, I hope that was as sarcastic as I deserve. Please excuse my sorry-assed whining from the relatively safe confines of rural mid-America. And may you be in the safety and a/c'ed comforts of home soon.
We have run the air conditioning in every single month of the year here. Every. single. month. At one time or another we have hot weather in even the winter months. Tis true. and thankful for it.
we definitely had the air on here! It was 88 outside and our second-floor, 135 year old sanctuary was an oven. We set the AC to 70 and were still melting because it just couldn't do it. Basted indeed--that was me in the exciting polyester of three services. I'm impressed that you didn't have yours on. Now at home I have it off and it's ridiculous, but I can wear *significantly* fewer clothes there, since it's just me and the kitties.....
I wouldn't have done it either... but we have it running at home right now!
I suspect I live considerably north of you and our AC was on in church yesterday. Of course, our windows don't open either...
So Sunday, I had to change clerical shirts between my two services, although we did indeed turn on the AC.Now yesterday, a temp drop of 20 degrees ...And tonight it's going down into the 30's here in the Land of God's Left Hand
