Can you send your mother out for a new Bubbles? Or is it time for a funeral/flush?

BTW- Mr. Listing says you can have ours...

Actually, I was thinking of inviting The Boy's class over for a discussion on death and dying and discernment about the afterlife, then place the fish on a plaque and make a mechanism so that when you flip a switch the tail flaps and it starts to sing 'Feelings'.

OF COURSE I'M GOING TO THE PET STORE!!!

Are you making fun of us?

Does that mean I should take our fish out of the USPS Priority Mail Box?

I remember a fish funeral in the middle of february when my son was about 5. He sobbed throughout and then after my prayer, he did that deep breath/swallow the last tears thing and said he felt better now because "goldie" was in his heart. It's really hard to bury anything in February--Im sure the neighborbood cat gat a tasty snack...

Actually, because it is in my life it is not that simple. The fish is still alive... sorta. It hangs out at the bottom, doesn't really eat, but when you get up close to look it moves around quite a bit.

Just. Die.

Oh, Bubbles....
Yes, pet store sounds like a good idea. We had a shiner (bait fish) for months and months once (he was great the water didn't get all dirty and weird like goldfish water). Anyway, I changed his water one day and killed him. My daughter was understanding, she had lost quite a few pets by that time (and had quite a few funerals, but I felt awful....

Pre-emptive funeral via the flush???
When I was 5 I was allowed to bring the school goldfish home for the holidays...When term resumed, he had doubled in size and acquired some interesting markings...I had noticed this and queried this with my father, who said it was all to do with the change of air...nobody at school noticed anything at all.
Good Luck xxx

Weirdness in the DNA Dep't.: I have a cousin who had a goldfish that lived for years, in spite of, or because of, the fact that he hauled it out of the bowl every evening at bedtime and kissed it good night. NO LIE!

RIP (eventually) Bubbles.

MurrayFish used to go to the pet store all the time to visit his friends. He calls us when he's ready to come home (and I am done cleaning the tank).

The reward for the toddler brushing his teeth all by himself was to feed MurrayFish. He did it every day for a month and MurrayFish decided it was time to go live with another little boy who needed help learning how to brush his teeth.

I highly suggest this move.

Oh, poor Will. Poor Bubbles. Poor you! Your alternative to the pet store made me laugh out loud. Thanks. I was due. I hope the fish has the good sense to go to fish heaven soon so his clone can take over the bowl.
