A Fine Line

I have a dog.

Any parent will tell you the best part of having a dog is the instant clean-up of all food products from the floor. I have been known to dump the contents of The Boy's booster seat onto the floor at a friend's house only to be reminded by their confused looks that they, in fact, do not have a dog.

The other day a friend of mine was over and we were sitting and talking like adults in the living room. I found a piece of cereal on the cushion beside me and threw it into the kitchen. Admittedly this is border line behavior even with a dog, but when the dog doesn't move and so effectively all you have done is thrown a piece of trash from one room into the other... suddenly you cross the very fine line into 'trashy'.

Stupid dog.

This made me laugh out loud.

Our dog is pretty picky about what floor garbage he will eat, so we are "selectively trashy".

(You know, that's like "jumbo shrimp".)

That's hilarious! "My Most Embarassing Moment."

When I was a kid my mom and I would say, "The 'vacuum cleaner' will get it." And she always did.

um, I had to stop myself from laughing out loud (I am currently at work) but that was seriously funny.

I should have saved this one to read later. I laughed out loud with a "Ha!" I am across the dean's office who is my boss. A Haiku (or two):

The dean is next door.
The dean is interviewing.
A job candidate.

I need a nappy.
I am so sleepy today.
Hot coffee is good.

hee hee! Not a chance in hell that our dog wouldn't move if I threw a piece of food across the room - which I, ahem, do sometwhat frequently.

You have a beautiful dog!

I love your dog's face. It totally makes sense that he (she?) would take care of your food clean up needs.

That's the way life is lived, surely! And I too have dumped food scraps on teh floor in a non dog owning household and waited for the hoover hound to get to work...
methinks that cabin of ours may get a tad messy!

If I find you throwing food on the floor for each other, I may have to say something...

I am IN LOVE with your dog.

And that was funny.

Often in restaurants when the kids are messy, I wish there was a dog to just come in and clean the floor. Wouldn't that be a great service?

that is really funny. Wonder if a dog would eat up the dust bunnies in our house?

When the Chick was eating from a high chair we were weekly guests at a friend's house. They had a vacuum dog. The Chick would drop food for the dog intentionally. He just hovered around her throughout the meal. I don't know if she ever tried this at home. It's hard to tell at that age if they're just messy or intentionally pitching.

You are too, too funny!
