Motivational Speaker

So... I'm thinking that if even the almost 4 year old says that it is time to get the ornaments off the tree because Christmas is over, then it might actually be time to do so.

Of course, when I handed him a box to start putting them in he declined the offer.

tyrant.

At least I already removed his underwear that Santa put in his stocking from the tree. He chucked it there while pulling out presents. Tough crowd.

Yep, we got ours down today. I took a detour to my mom's this week so lots of stuff didn't happen on the home front. Hope all is well - the site from the breaking news post isn't available, but I get the gist from the comments. Prayers for all of you in this great transition.

I thought they looked cute on the tree...

He came around and actually did help pull ornaments off the tree. We had a 'Will' box, a 'Mommy' box and fragile ones went on the table.

He did great!

Now if only I could get him to wrap things in tissue paper.

But he's early! the pants should be reinstated without delay...My mother was certain that something awful would happen in the world if we either a)took our decorations down before twelfth night or b)let them linger afterwards.
Mind you, she also insisted that disaster would strike if the house were not cleaned from top to toe on New Year's Eve - and that's something I've never ever managed, so maybe I could let the Twelfth Night issue go too. But to have the house decorated for only 2 weeks feels very inadequate...
